Peanut field at harvest

Independent Peanut Brokers Since 1979

O'Connor & Company

Connecting food manufacturers and ingredient buyers with trusted peanut suppliers across the United States.

About the Company

A Family Business Rooted in the Peanut Industry

Founded in 1979 and based in Suffolk, Virginia — one of the nation's premier peanut-producing regions — O'Connor & Company has spent more than four decades building relationships with growers, shellers, and buyers throughout the United States. As an independent broker, we represent no single supplier. Our loyalty is to our clients: helping them source the right product at the right price, with the reliability their operations depend on.

Family-owned and operated since our founding, we bring a personal commitment to every transaction that larger trading firms simply cannot match.

What We Source

Peanut Products We Broker

We source all major peanut types and processed forms for food manufacturers, roasters, ingredient companies, and distributors across the country.

Runner Peanuts

The most widely grown variety in the U.S., prized for uniform size and consistent flavor. The standard for peanut butter production.

Virginia Peanuts

Large-kernel peanuts grown primarily in Virginia and the Carolinas. Preferred for in-shell snacks, gourmet roasting, and premium retail.

Spanish Peanuts

Smaller kernels with a higher oil content and distinctive flavor. Widely used in candy, snack mixes, and peanut oil production.

Valencia Peanuts

Sweet, multi-kernel peanuts grown primarily in New Mexico. Popular for natural peanut butter and specialty food applications.

Blanched Peanuts

Skin-removed peanuts available in whole, split, and granulated forms. A staple ingredient for confectionery and food manufacturing.

In-Shell Peanuts

Whole peanuts in the shell for roasting, retail, and snack applications. Available in multiple grades and sizes.

Roasted Peanuts

Dry-roasted and oil-roasted peanuts in various sizes and salt levels for snack, foodservice, and ingredient use.

Why Work With Us

What Sets an Independent Broker Apart

Almost 50 Years of Industry Experience

Since 1979, we have navigated every market cycle the peanut industry has seen — drought years, record crops, price volatility, and supply disruptions. That history gives our clients a perspective that no newcomer can offer.

Truly Independent Representation

We are not affiliated with any processor, sheller, or supplier. When we recommend a source, it is because it is the right fit for your needs — not because of a preferred vendor arrangement. Our clients' interests come first, always.

Long-Term Supplier Relationships

Our network of growers, shellers, and processors has been built over decades. These relationships give our clients access to reliable supply, honest quality assessments, and the kind of candid market information that only comes from trust built over years.

Direct Access, Genuine Responsiveness

When you call O'Connor & Company, you reach a decision-maker — not a call center. We are a small, focused operation, and that means our clients receive personal attention and timely answers when the market moves.

Market Knowledge

Understanding the Peanut Market

The peanut market is shaped by crop conditions, weather patterns, government programs, export demand, and the decisions of a relatively small number of major shellers and processors. Navigating it well requires more than a price list — it requires context. O'Connor & Company monitors market conditions year-round, maintains relationships throughout the supply chain, and communicates that knowledge directly to our clients. Whether you are locking in forward contracts, evaluating spot opportunities, or planning for a new crop season, we help you make informed decisions.

We do not publish market reports or price indices. Our market knowledge is shared directly with clients as part of an ongoing working relationship.
